Available Channel Measurement in TV Whitespace with Adjacent Channel Interference

چکیده
When using the sharing spectrum with others communication system, the most important thing is considering about harmful interference from unlicensed to licensed systems. With TV-band also, the digital television (DTV) can tolerate the interference from other system with their threshold and sharing spectrum regulations can guarantee the interference between communications system was characterized in Federal Communications Commission (FCC) 10-174 and Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC). This paper provides an interference analysis to verify a probability of interference between TV band devices and DTV system in adjacent TV channel. Besides, the combination of using Spectrum Engineering Advanced Monte Carlo Analysis Tool (SEAMCAT) will propose the criterion to get the level of harmful interference by another wireless system with specified transmission and geo-location arrangement.

Analysis of Interference from Secondary System in TV White Space
The demand of bandwidth has increased in recent years with the advent of new technologies in wireless communication systems along with the rise of traffic flow. This has resulted the radio spectrum into a scarce entity. However, recent measurements suggest that some part of the licensed spectrum is not efficiently utilized due to static spectrum allocation. TV broadcast systems operating in lic...

This report is intended as a response to some of the questions posed by the FCC regarding the upcoming TV-band incentive auction, given in their NPRM [1], as they relate to the television whitespaces. In particular, we argue (1) that channel 37 should be made available for whitespace use; (2) that the channels reserved for wireless microphones should be reserved on an as-used basis only; and (3...

In this paper we study how much capacity a cellular secondary system can achieve if the interference to the TV system is kept under control. The interference is modeled and controlled in a slow fading environment. The secondary system’s capacity is computed for the adjacent and for the co-channel (with respect to the TV channel). We study the behavior of the system capacity while changing the s...
متن کاملSpectrally efficient emission mask shaping for OFDM cognitive radios
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing has been widely adopted in recent years due to its inherent spectral efficiency and robustness to impulsive noise and fading. For cognitive radio applications in particular, it can enable flexible and agile spectrum allocation, yet suffers from spectral leakage in the form of large side lobes, leading to inter-channel interference, unless mitigated car...
متن کاملAvailability Assessment for Secondary Access in TV White Space
In recent years, the rapid growth in wireless data traffic has posed not only unique opportunities but also great challenges for the wireless industry. In order to meet the growing demand without excessive cost or energy consumption, one feasible option for the operators is to acquire more spectrum for wireless communication. Unlike the lengthy allocation process for exclusive spectrum licenses...
